Flying high on lake Trasimeno

The Castiglione del Lago International Kite Festival will take place on the shores of Lake Trasimeno (near Perugia, Umbria) between the 30 th April and the 4 th May. The event, “Coloriamo il Cielo” (“Let’s Colour the Sky”) will be based in the former Eleuteri airport inside the Lake Trasimeno park. In addition to the spectacular sight of hundreds of multi-coloured kites and balloons, visitors can attend “Voliamo con i Libri” (“Let’s fly with Books”), a fair of publications for children with an environmental theme (30 th May) and the first children’s Tourism Fair (2 nd and 3 rd May), with mountain bike tours, nature workshops and courses on kite and balloon building.
