Victoria rules the waves

The de-luxe ocean liner Queen Victoria made its triumphal debut from the Marghera (Venice) shipyards of Fincantieri on Saturday, 24th November. The cruise ship, measuring 295 metres long and with a capacity of 2000 passengers, is the latest addition to the prestigious British Cunard line, part of the Carnival group. The Queen Victoria has 1,007 cabins, 864 of which with a sea view and will carry a crew of 900.

This is the 38th cruise ship built by world leader Fincantieri since 1990. 15 other ships are currently under construction or are on the order books at the Montefalcone, Marghera and Sestri Ponente Fincantieri yards, including a new 2090-passenger “Queen Elizabeth”, to be built for Cunard with delivery date of 2010.
