Trentino Sky Season opens
The ski season is just round the corner and some of Italy’s top winter sports resorts in the Trentino region have launched a series of all-in holiday packages to promote pre-Christmas tourism.
Details are available on websites below.
Trentino has 489 ski slopes to suit all levels. 71 of these are challenging runs, reserved for experts. Some of the runs are legendary, such as the Madonna di Campiglio 3tre, venue of 55 editions of the World Cup, the Ciampac at Alba di Canazei, the Tomba run (named after Italy’s champion skier, Alberto Tomba) at Vico di Fassa, the Olimpica Due at Andalo, and the 7.2 km-long Olimpia run at Cermis. Fans of Ferrari racing driver, Michael Schumacher, may like to try out the run named in his honour at Madonna di Campiglio, where he is a frequent guest. The area is also equipped with cross country ski runs and snowboard parks.
A number of hotels have health and beauty centres and entertainment programmes for children.
